What is the concept of the “liberal script” and how does it respond to the values, structures and challenges of liberal societies? How do liberal societies stick together? The animated short film “Living freely, living differently, living together?”, which was released in June 2022, explains in an understandable and creative way the research programme of SCRIPTS. It then introduces the public opinion survey “PALS – Public Attitudes towards the Liberal Script(s)” and its approach to measuring views on liberal democracy, liberal economy and liberal values from a global perspective. The film was created by students from the University of Arts in Berlin (UdK) – Dara Elena Bubel, Yasemin Çakır, Isabel Kiefaber and Lilli Kirchmann – and Dr. Heiko Giebler, head of the PALS survey (conducted by the Junior Research Group “Comparative Survey”). The film is available on YouTube in English and German subtitles.
