SCRIPTS at the Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften

Every summer, scientific and science-related institutions in Berlin and Potsdam open their doors for one night and invite visitors to spectacular experiments, exciting lectures, science shows, guided tours and much more. In addition to face-to-face events, there are now also various online offerings that make it possible to look behind the scenes at the region's most outstanding science and research institutions.

The aim of the Long Night of the Sciences is to inform the residents of and visitors to Berlin and Potsdam about local research, to engage in an exchange with them and to provide insight into scientific work. Meanwhile, another claim of the Long Night of the Sciences is to use science as an answer to fake news, conspiracy theories and disinformation. Because in contrast to Fake News, science always keeps an eye on the complexity and diversity of our modern world - this is more important than ever, especially for the social sciences.

Since 2019, SCRIPTS has been involved in the Long Night of the Sciences, with panel discussions, round tables, or a casual Meet the Scientist - sometimes alone on current social and political events, sometimes in cooperation with the other Berlin Clusters of Excellence, for example at the Humboldt Lab.

Curious about the activities of the Berlin Excellence Clusters researchers? Join them at the pub quiz during the Long Night of Sciences on June 22nd. Dive into the worlds of research, puzzle along and win prizes. Whether it's mathematics or the future of democracy, literary communities or brain research, there's a topic to engage everyone. Open to all science enthusiasts, teams can register on-site at 6:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
