About the book Democracy and the Separation of Powers - Christoph Möllers
The Separation of Powers is often understood as a constitutional principle that formally organizes and limits political authority through law. Christoph Möllers contrasts this ultimately pre-democratic view with a different concept: he places the power-enabling function of separation of powers at the center — as a precondition for democratic self-government.
From this perspective, new insights emerge: into the concept of democracy itself, the relationship between law and politics, the self-legitimation of legal forms, and the applicability of the separation of powers beyond the state.
