Principal investigator Prof. Dr. Steffen Mau is one of the winners of this year's Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize, which is awarded for outstanding achievements in science. The award comes with prize money of 2.5 million euros. The honorees can use these funds for their research work according to their own ideas and without bureaucratic effort for up to seven years.

The Leibniz Prizes 2021 will be awarded on March 15 in a virtual setting.
