Democracy in Europe is under pressure — in times of climate change, digitalization, and conflict, European politics face difficult times. SCRIPTS speaker and professor of political science at Freie Universität Berlin Tanja A. Börzel was part of the roundtable "Demokratie im Stresstest" organized by the Bertelsmann Stiftung and the Zentrum Liberale Moderne. Together with Anna Lührmann, Minister of State for Europe and Climate, she gave some introductory words to the discussion. One of the central questions: how the EU should handle the diverse viewpoints of democracy and politics within their member states.
