In the course of his Einstein Research Fellowship, Andreas Eckert – an expert on the history of Africa in the 19th and 20th centuries – aims to write a comprehensive historical study on labour in Africa since 1945. At SCRIPTS, he will continue to head the research unit “(Re-)Allocation” and two major research projects on liberal promises and migration and the restitution debate.

Einstein Research Fellowships are awarded to excellent researchers at the top international level.
