Andreas Eckert appointed to Einstein Research Fellow
The Einstein Stiftung Berlin has approved new funding projects, including the Einstein Research Fellowship of Andreas Eckert, Principal Investigator at SCRIPTS and professor of the history of Africa at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.

In the course of his Einstein Research Fellowship, Andreas Eckert – an expert on the history of Africa in the 19th and 20th centuries – aims to write a comprehensive historical study on labour in Africa since 1945. At SCRIPTS, he will continue to head the research unit “(Re-)Allocation” and two major research projects on liberal promises and migration and the restitution debate.
Einstein Research Fellowships are awarded to excellent researchers at the top international level. The Einstein Foundation Berlin is a non-profit, independent and science-led institution which promotes science and research across disciplines and institutions in and for Berlin. Other Einstein Research Fellows at SCRIPTS are Andrew Hurrell, Gwendolyn Sasse and Kathrin Zippel.
