Workshop on “Horizon Europe” for early career researchers

May 19, 2022 | 02:00 PM - 04:00 PM

Two representatives of the German Research Organisations will explain how to raise funds from the EU framework programme "Horizon Europe". The event is hosted by SCRIPTS and BR50 and takes place via Zoom.

Successes in raising funds from the EU framework programme for research and innovation “Horizon Europe” and in particular from the European Research Council have become important indicators of individual excellence in research.

However, the variety of subprograms and funding instruments of Horizon Europe often makes it difficult for individual scientists to identify the best fitting funding scheme. The competitiveness of the programs also makes many people uncertain: is it even worth putting in so much effort?

In the workshop, two representatives of KoWi, the European Liaison Office of the German Research Organisations, will offer an overview of Horizon Europe. The course requires no prior knowledge. The aim is to provide basic knowledge about the most important funding instruments of European research funding and in particular those that are of interest to researchers who are still working on developing an individual research profile.

Participants

The workshop is geared primarily towards postdoctoral researchers and doctoral researchers close to finishing their PhD.

Please note: The "Horizon Europe" funding scheme is especially interesting for Ukrainian scholars. As the Russian invasion continues, researchers who are displaced will be able to use EU funds to continue their research in member states or countries associated to Horizon Europe.
