Extended Academic Senate Elects Prof. Dr. Marianne Braig to the University's Executive Board

Principal investigator and professor of political science at the Latin American Institute (LAI) Prof. Dr. Marianne Braig has been elected to the Executive Board of Freie Universität Berlin as the new Vice President for Research. She received 41 yes votes of the 47 cast at Wednesday's meeting of the university's Extended Academic Senate. The position had become vacant in the spring when the previous vice president, Prof. Dr. Klaus Mühlhahn, moved to Zeppelin University in Friedrichshafen. The election of Professor Braig requires the appointment by the Berlin Senate Department for Science, which is responsible for universities.
