Workshop on Eurosceptic Contestations in EU Legislative Politics

News from Oct 17, 2019

The contestation of European integration has become a key feature of European Union politics. How does this play out in legislative politics at the EU level? We invite papers that explore how and to what extent Euroscepticism and Eurosceptic actors shape legislative behaviour in the European institutions, and in particular in the European Parliament. Papers may cover topics such as campaigning, career paths, representation, voting behaviour and other legislative activity, including speech and broader parliamentary discourse. The workshop aims to shed light on the impact of Eurosceptic contestations across time and policy areas. We welcome different theoretical and methodological approaches.

The workshop will take place on 10 February 2020 in Berlin, hosted in the framework of the SCRIPTS Cluster of Excellence funded by the German Research Foundation. We expect to be able to cover reasonable travel and accommodation expenses of presenters.

Please feel free to reach out in case of questions and submit abstracts by 6 November 2019 at: lukas.obholzer@fu-berlin.de
