Berlin Science Week: Populism and Social Inequality - Current Debates
Are unequal distributions of income, wealth, and opportunities really the root of the crisis faced by liberal democracies - or can other factors be identified? On November 7, 2019, we hosted a panel discussion together with the Cluster of Excellence “The Politics of Inequality” on these issues at Berlin Science Week. During the discussion our four panel participants Prof. Dr. Marianne Braig, Laura-Kristine Krause, Prof. Dr. Marius Busemeyer and Prof. Dr. Christian Volk showed that populism and inequalities are just one part of the bigger picture and that it is essential to bear in mind non-western perspectives on these historically mutational concepts. Above you can find a selection of pictures of the event.
