Gwendolyn Sasse contributes article on borders to ApuZ issue "Upheveals in Europe (after) 1989/91"

Principal Investigator Prof. Dr. Gwendolyn Sasse (director of Centre for East European and International Studies (ZOiS)) has contributed an article on borders and identities post 1989/91 for the publication "Aus Politik und Zeitgeschichte" (APuZ). In the framework of SCRIPTS, Sasse leads a research project "The Liberal Script in Ukraine's Contested Border Regions". In her article in APuZ, Sasse discusses border regimes, border openings, and border crossings in the aftermath of the fall of the Soviet Union and the Berlin Wall. The publication series "Aus Politik und Zeitgeschichte" (APuZ) is published by the "Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung" (Federal Agency for Civic Education). It publishes scientifically sound, broadly understandable articles on contemporary historical and social science topics as well as on current political issues. The Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung (bpb) is an agency of the Ministry of the Interior and is concerned with political education and the promotion of democratic awareness.
