Vladimir Kolosov is Professor of Political Geography, Head of the Department of Geopolitics at the Institute of Geography at the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow and Head of Department of Geography of World Economy at Moscow State University. His main research interest are border dynamics and conflict regions in Eastern Europe. He is interested in studying the challenges to national sovereignty in a historical perspective as well as with regard to current geopolitical developments with a particular regional focus on Eastern and Southeastern Europe.
