The Cluster of Excellence "Contestations of the Liberal Script" (SCRIPTS) and is located at Freie Universität Berlin, in cooperation with Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, the Hertie School, the Social Science Research Center Berlin (WZB), the German Institute for Economic Research Berlin (DIW), the Leibniz Institute of Global and Area Studies (GIGA), the Center for East European and International Studies (ZOiS), and the Leibniz Center for Modern Oriental Studies (ZMO). SCRIPTS examines contemporary contestations over the model of liberal democracy and market economy from historical, global, and comparative perspectives. It combines the expertise available in Berlin in the social sciences and regional studies, and cooperates with research institutions in all regions of the world and practical institutions from politics, culture and society.

The Cluster of Excellence also cooperates with international partner institutions around the world and has a broad international network, as well as extensive doctoral and postdoctoral funding. The cluster's diverse research projects span the various partner institutions and thematic areas that the cluster researches and offer the opportunity to gain insight into the work of a large research network.
The "Regional Conferences" project is one of the cluster's many multi-year research projects aimed at networking and content exchange with the cluster's international partners. As part of the position, you will support the research work that takes place in the context of joint (international) events, as well as the publication process.
In addition to the usual pay scale for student assistants at Freie Universität Berlin, we offer a collegial working atmosphere in an international environment where you can anticipate and creatively work on tasks.
- Support in project work with international partners of the cluster (communication and documentation of exchanges).
- Support in research projects within the project, e.g. research, translation and documentation of scientific publications
- Support at events within the project, e.g. organization, documentation and follow-up of author workshops
- 2 completed university semesters in a degree program in social/cultural sciences.
- Interest in the research field of the Cluster of Excellence SCRIPTS
- good MS-Office skills
- very good knowledge of German (C1) and English (written and spoken)
- very good organizational skills
- careful way of working
